Edits

So this is just a quick entry. I have made a few changes to my original day zero project list. I realised upon looking further at it that a lot of it was game related and I had pretty much put each book that I want to read as a separate thing, so I changed it.

I am currently 48% of the way through it with 745 days left to go. Moved "Buy a VW Kombi" to the someday list.

That was really all I wanted to say actually.

Oh well

Ooops

Apparently I have been a bit slack over the past few months. I seriously must rectify this lack of updating. Need my laptop back or a new one. Hate this shared computer thing.

Although to be honest this is just a quick update. I am now at 42% of my day zero project list and only 820 days to go. Pretty good average so far. Have a few of them in progress.

Will update properly when I can be bothered lol.

37% done and 895 days to go.

Yeah my list is getting there. A lot of things in progress though. I get very easily distracted.

Hmm anyway, this is my Aussie adventures blog. You know in the last month or so, I have been very busy. Hell I got a job in journalism nearly three months ago. In the last month however, I have went to sexpo in Brisbane, the Childers cultural fesitval, have viewed houses, have been fishing, got an ipod and am nearly completely healed from physio.

Really this is just a quick update to say I have been busy. I will get back into the habit of daily updates.

Oh and I am awesome at making soup.

Toodles

Sooouuuppp

Today I made my Gran's Carrot Soup and it turned out perfect. It looked right, it smelled right and it most definitely tasted right. Happiness in a bowl :)

Also bought Night at the Museum 1 and 2 so that means when i watch them I can count that towards one of my 26 movies. Incidentally, I also bought 2001: A Space Odessy, the original one for like 9 bucks.

That makes it officially 30% of the list done. And I am in the process of reading Great Expectations and War and Peace. I actually have about three or four books on the go, but I will get them read.

I will buy my vw kombi, I will buy my vw klombi. Must keep reminding myself of this and that I can actually do everything else on my list. I will not let myself down :)

30% done and 950 days to go.

So, I have been doing some blog updating, well the looks of them anyway. I got bored.
Thought I would drop onto this one and update you with my progress on my Day Zero Project list. As the title suggests, I have completed 30% of my list and still have 950 days to go. I mastered muffins today. Well at least this batch worked, but I have this theory that if I keep doing what I did today then I can't go wrong. I basically took the recipe and bastardised it, I only looked at it for measurements, even then I threw them away lol.

I have marked it off the list, well actually I marked it as in progress, but I just have a good feeling about the muffin ability. I also bought new sexy bra sets yesterday, but I am not counting that as lingerie, plus I am after something a bit more "oh la la" lol, best way I could think of to describe what I am after.

This is just a short entry, for just now.

Day Zero List now at 21% complete

Yup it sure is. I just marked off Take Pile of clothes to charity store. I did that tonight with Lauren. Plus the house is spotless. Massive weekend of cleaning. We went to the show on Friday night, I got the most awesome snoopy show bag. And a huge bag of sour warheads, just to reminisce about Dreamworld with Sarah. Good fun.
But yeah Lauren helped us to tidy the house and it got done and is lovely. We now have a cleaning roster and it will be stuck to.

I have decided to make a list of 26 movies all with different letters of the alphabet. That way I can keep track for my day zero list.

A: Apocolypto
B: Bride and Prejudice
C: Cassablanca
D: Disturbing Behavior
E: Entrapment
F: Fantastic Mr Fox
G: Gone with the Wind
H: Hairspray
I: Italian Job
J: Julie & Julia
K: King Arthur
L: Logan's Run
M: Marmaduke
N: Night at the Museum
O: Open Season
P: Priscilla Queen of the Desert
Q: Queen Elizabeth
R: Rio
S: Schindler's List
T: Troy
U: Usual Suspects
V: Voyage to the bottom of the sea
W: Wanted
X: X-men
Y: Young Frankenstein
Z: Zack and Miri make a porno

So there you have it. The list of movies I have to watch for my day zero project list.

Productive Day

Yesterday was a pretty good day, up until last night, but yeah damn good. I woke up early to meet with a volunteer accountant guy. He was helping me understand my tax responsibilities with having an ABN. It is surprisingly easy actually. After talking with this guy, I got changed and headed out to town. I bought an optus simcard, which means I managed to score that off my list.

See I really did buy it!

While in town I also treated myself to a set of gel nails, they look so awesome. Am very pleased with them. I decided to get an advance from Centrelinkto be able to treat myself and garth to some nice things. I just pay it back a little every fortnight and it's interest free too, so i figured why not. So yeah got some real awesome nails, which is another thing off my list.

They match my ring and my tattoos :)

Ugh, that took too long to work. Yesterday also marked one week that I had my hair down, which meant I could tie it up, yay. HA! To all the naysayers who said I wouldn't manage it. So, yes that is now marked off the list. Another thing that I managed to mark off my list yesterday was being able to buy a custom set of ears from Red Vinyl Kitty. I put my order in last night before me and the boys headed out to the Cri.

I was in such a good mood all day, until Roy, Garth's mate came round and started spouting shit about the end of the world. Now, my rational, intelligent part of my brain knows that most of the end of the world predictions, whether from Notradamus, the Mayans, The Chinese, whoever, are mostly just scare mongering and are crap. However the not so sane part of my brain panics about the idea of the world ending. I ain't done with life and things are finally starting to go good. Ugh it pissed me off, which unfortunately meant that my night was ruined.

As it was even if Roy hadn't come in blabbing shite, I think my night would still have been a bit poor. I am really not feeling the Cri anymore. It's shit. The staff don't give a damn about getting people unduly intoxicated, the bouncers just pick fights and the clientele are just plain bitchy. I faced my demon and danced to No Speak Americano at the same spot where I broke my foot, I was quite happy dancing away by myself...only girl in a group of boys that were only interested in getting hammered...and I smiled at two girls as they walked past me, instead of smiling back they drew me the dirtiest look. It made me want to smoke and I am a non smoker. I could just feel the tension all night last night. You know those nights where you just know there is going to be trouble. Yeah it was one of those. Then of course Anthony got trashed, he got escorted out of the club and within an hour of that happening Will got escorted out. He was fucked! There is no nice, non swearing way to describe. Fucked and a right rotten little torag, even though we were only try to help him. We left the club at like midnight, it took us until 1.30am ish, to get him sober enough to be able to handle a ten minute taxi ride. They boys had a good night however. I think I was just in a slump. I am happier now getting a bottle of wine or a carton of beer and staying home and drinking. Either that or I need to go to Brisbane more often, the clubs there are like another world.

Hmm well I guess that is enough of that rant, although i am getting pretty good at typing with long nails lol.

W00t

Yay, the kitchen is all clean now. I am exhausted though. Had Hydro therapy today which was fine but now really want Garth to come home and give me a foot and leg massage, all stiff now. Will helped me tidy though which was good. He also made a really yummy food combo...chilli easy mac mixed with hot and spicy noodles and extra cheese. Unhealthy? Hell yes! Tasty? Definitely. Filling? Yup. Total stoner food? You bet lol.

On a different note, I have started a few other things on my list. Since Sunday I have been in bed before 3am and have been up and about before 8am, lets see if I can keep going for the month. I am also now doing my one month of no energy drinks and that includes Powerade. While I am giving up energy drinks I figured it was a good idea to  start list item number 38: Drink at least 5 glasses of water a day for two weeks, I may even extend that to the month. As it is today I have drank 3 600ml bottles of water which is like 6 glasses. Oh and I changed one of my list items. I originally had written that I wanted to buy a ds charger and an SD card reader, well turns out I don't need to buy the card reader as the printer we have has a SD slot which allows me to transfer my photos to the computer. Huzzah! So now that item is back to being get a ds charger.

I am also working on keeping my hair down for a week. I have had it down since Friday. I had to tie it up today because I was at hydro therapy, but as soon as I got out the pool I took my hair back down. Now I know this probably seems like a pointless task to most people, but trust me when I say that I only wear my hair down VERY occasionally and even then it normally only lasts about 3 hours before it has been tied back again.  Incidentally, while I was cleaning today I resisted the urge to tie it back, which is very unusual for me. Normally when I get into a cleaning mode, the first thing i do is scrape my hair out my way and I didn't today. I only have to last until Friday then I can tie my hair back as much as I please. YAY!
This is what my hair is currently looking like. This is after 6 days.

Oh and item number  77: create something with my sticks and cellophane, I am going to make a Kite. I haven't started it yet, mostly because I still have chocolate left in the original gift. But yeah, a kite. Brilliant and the best part, the idea came from a 3 year old. Love it.

Feeling pretty good about my little list, lots of things in progress though. So as a note I am going to jot down the start dates of stuff here:
Hair Down: Started on Friday.
Bed Before 3am: Sunday 15th May
Up By 8am: Monday 16th May
No energy drinks: Tuesday 17th May
Five glasses of water: Wednesday 18th May (lol get me with the consecutive days)

Anyway, that's enough for just now.

More of the List

I marked off a few other things from my list over the week. I have become an organ donor, I haven't eaten Hungry Jacks for two weeks, have worn a pair of earrings for one whole week and I have found the perfect engagement ring, now to wait for Garth to pay it off and to finally propose properly. Yay. I started on one of my other list items and that is Read Great Expectations, Mein Kampf and War and Peace. Garth bought me War and Peace yesterday so that item is being marked as in progress.

Yesterday I wore my hair down all day and so far I have kept it down all day today. Hopefully I will manage to wear it down for a whole week.

I looked into giving blood and unfortunately I will have to change that item on my list, as the Australians do not want my blood. Why not? Because I lived in the UK for more than six months between 1980 and 1996. The Australians don't have the tests to be able to screen for Mad Cow disease so instead they just say they can't take British blood from people who lived there between those years. My problem now is finding something to replace that list item with.

I start with the Herald on Monday and am bricking it to be honest. I am sure I will do great but still nervous as hell, am finally using my degree which lets face it, is a pretty big deal.  I really hope it ends up a permanent thing, that would be awesome. At least if Garth and I decide to road trip, in fact not if, when we decide to road trip, I can take my writing with me, hell I can take my bar tending skills with me. Can't wait until I can drive and can afford to buy my VW Kombi.

I am pretty hungry, perhaps I should stop procrastinating and actually make lunch and keep reading War and Peace, seeing as it is a huge book. Anyway, watch this space, or more to the point cook creative craziness space, for a review of the book :)
